OK, so it's been a long time since I've posted. Cut a sister some slack. It's been a busy one around here! So I was getting some peanut butter out of my pantry yesterday while making lunch and thought, how would this family survive without peanut butter? It is an ultimate staple in our home! Sooooo, I thought to myself, what are the other staples we couldn't live without? Sure this post may not be the most exciting, but that's just how I roll today. Informational with a side of boring. :-) So here's to all those staples in our home that are frequently used! Of course, this isn't an exhaustive list...there are too many staples to name, but these are just a few that were fresh on the brain....in no particular order, except #1. :-)

#1:Peanut Butter- Zac and Taylor could eat Peanut Butter at every meal, on anything and never get sick of it! I like peanut butter, but I am not where close to eating as much as these boys do! At any given moment if you can't find Taylor in our house, he is probably sitting in the pantry floor with a spoon and the giant tub of peanut butter eating it by the spoonfuls...no lie. He and his daddy are peanut butter lovers. I love to bake with peanut butter too, so we have to buy a ginormous tub unless I want to go to the store every other day for peanut butter. Seriously....I buy a 6lb container. Crazy! I bought one two weeks ago, and it is half gone already! And if you are thinking.....that isn't a very healthy choice. You are right. I am aware of the hydrogenated oils in Peter Pan. I know the natural peanut butter is a healthier choice, however, my Zac has stated he is on furlough from my "healthy" peanut butter and wants the real deal for a while, so I figure since he has eaten my kind for several years now, I'll treat him and buy the "real" stuff for a little while. Anyhow, here's to peanut butter!!

#2: Agave- I love this stuff!! Love, love, love it! It isn't as sweet as honey and has such a light taste. I don't like syrup, so I use Agave on anything a normal person would use syrup on. I put it in smoothies for a little sweetener, in hot tea, on a peanut butter sandwich, pancakes, waffles, biscuits. Yummo. If you have never bought it before, try it! You will not be disappointed. It's glycemic index is lower than sugar and other sweeteners too, so I've heard it's better for diabetic's. Anyhow, that random bit of info was for free. :-)

#3: Spinach & Tomatoes- I know, this is kind of random. We use so many tomatoes and spinach. Why you ask? Well, here is the deal. They are BOTH superfoods and are uber healthy and good for your body. I typically don't buy lettuce anymore and I buy spinach in most cases. We can't tell the difference and it has SOOO many more vitamins and nutrients than lettuce. They are staples because I can create a meal out of them. Think about it....if you have chicken, you can make a grilled chicken sandwich or a panini. If you have pasta, you can make a light pasta with them tossed in it. If you have bacon, you can make a BLT. The possibilites are endless! Now we do NOT eat cooked spinach, but love it fresh....on salads, sandwiches, wraps. You get the point. It's pretty versatile.

#4: Bread! Who doesn't like bread! I don't think Zac or Taylor could live without bread in our house. They love sandwiches, bread and butter, toast, garlic bread, you name it.....they love it. I'm not a big fan of just any bread though. I prefer healthier choices for my family and because we eat so much of it I have a few "requirements" when I buy it. It has to be wheat and I look for one that has no high fructose corn syrup, enriched flour or hydrogenated anything. It's a little harder than you think. A lot of bread has high fructose corn syrup. So this is our top choice of bread....Nature's Own 100% Whole Wheat. I'm sure there is an even healthier one out there, but Zac will not eat the nutty, wheat berry, sprouted ones. Bread is made to be soft according to his taste buds, so why argue?

#5: Cheese. I LOVE cheese. Any kind (almost), any way, on anything. I love cheese. Brie, cheddar, Gouda, Swiss, provolone, string cheese....and even on a rare occasion the mother of fake cheese, Velveeta. Taylor is a cheese head too. If I let him eat cheese every time he asked for it, he would be constipated for a year! He loves it! So we typically have several kinds around here. Just don't give me American cheese. Gag.

In Loving Memory.....Our Pops

A month ago today was the most special party ever and we had the joy of hosting it. It was a precious time full of so many memories that we will never forget....especially now. This week my dear grandfather "Pops" went to be with the Lord. He is in a much better place now which I am so grateful for, but it still hurts. At his 80th birthday party exactly a month ago, I would have never guessed a month later he wouldn't be with us. His service was so sweet....full of memories in so many ways and very honoring to him and the Godly life he lived. When the pastor asked if I wanted to say anything or write something for him to say, I just couldn't pull all the right words together. How do you sum up such a special and treasured person in your life in one little paragraph? Not exactly an easy task. So as I was fixing to walk into the service, the Lord gave me the one thing to focus on that I treasure most in the legacy he left....his Godly character.

Our Pops was not an ordinary man. He was a man of great character and love. He taught us many things and left a legacy of Godly character that we are eternally grateful for. He loved the Lord with all his heart and it showed in everything he did. He was a servant to anyone in need and always did it with a smile. He forgave always and didn't even know how to hold a grudge. His laughter we will cherish, his hugs we will miss. He will always be our pops and no one will replace the special spot he holds in our heart. We will love him always. Our heart is sad, but we are rejoicing that he is doing what he always wanted.....fishing with Jesus.

I have more memories with my Pops that I can even write on paper right now. Most of my greatest childhood memories are with my Nanny and Pops. He was so dear to my heart and will definitely be missed in a big way. Next time you feel the Holy Spirit tugging on your heart even if it is for something seemingly small like throwing a party, listen to his voice and do it. It makes for a life of no regrets. Everyone in my family will always remember Pops party and the wonderful time we had with him. The memories that were made and the priceless pictures that were captured are so precious. I am so grateful. Our life is but a vapor...

We have been counting down since the beginning of July for Bob and Larry to come to Lifeway so we could go meet them! Taylor was PUMPED to say the least. Every day he asks how many more days. He has been waiting with much anticipation. Well, the night before Taylor got a fever and I was so so so sad to tell him he couldn't go. I just didn't want to take him if he wasn't feeling good and take the chance of getting anyone else infected if he had something that was contagious. So we prayed with Taylor and asked the Lord to work it out, however that may be. I called Lifeway and they agreed for us to come up at the end right before they were done and come out to the car to meet Taylor. It was so special and so sweet for them to do that. I told them the situation and they didn't even hesitate. They were waiting outside for us and Taylor wasn't as perky as normal, but he still got to shake their hand and see his best friends! I am so grateful the Lord worked it out. I love when the Lord gives us simple ways to show our kids how much he cares for even the little things. It was a testimony to Taylor of how the Lord takes care of us and he knows even the small desires of our heart. Thank you God for giving our little man a small taste of your love for him. It blessed his socks off!

Taylor is such a sweet spirited little man that amazes us more every day. Recently, we started a new "reward" system for his reading. I got the idea from My great Mother in Law. They do it at the school she is principal at. I started keeping track of what books and how many he was reading on "Taylor's Reading List." Our goal was to encourage him to read and make reading something fun rather than just something boring we do with school. After ever 25 books he reads, he gets a treat! He heard the word treat and he was instantly motivated! The rules are none of the books can be repeats and he has to read them out loud to me. So he started reading everything he could find! It was really fun to do with him. After 24 hours, he already had the first 25 read so he could get some ice cream! Such a boy....rewards that include food are always a winner. :-) At 50 books Zac and Taylor had a sleepover in a tent they made in Taylor's room and at 75 books he got to have all of his cousins on the King side come and have a sleepover. For those of you who don't know, there are 9 cousins on that side. I knew the treat was pretty big, but after reading 75 books in less than 2 months, he deserved something BIG!! So below you will find lots of pics from our sleepover extravaganza. It was a lot of fun...the kids did great and I was exhausted, but I would do it all over again. You just can't put a price tag on memories with family. It was so worth it. I love all of those kids and we are blessed to call them family! We did miss Baby Eli and Jocelyn though....maybe next time!

This is so super Yummy. If you like Butterfinger, you will be in heaven. A sweet friend gave me the recipe and this has become one of Zac and Taylor's new favorites. It is pretty tasty....and oh so fatty!! Watch out, you may gain 5 lbs just looking at it!

Grayson has teeth! That's right, not one tooth, but 2! Grayson started teething around 4 months like Taylor. Taylor got his first tooth on his 6 month birthday, so I just figured somewhere around there we would see Grayson's first tooth. This buddy got his first tooth at 5 months! His second tooth popped through a week later. So he now has 2 teeth and not quite 6 months yet. He is wanting to eat everything, drools a lot and is really interested in food. So far he has only had cereal and rice teething biscuits, but he will stare you down if you have food and anxiously await a bite. We will be starting solids soon.....but you have to wait a little bit longer buddy. Such a sweetie pie. Love him so much!

Pops Party----The Big 8-0!!

My Pops (My moms dad) turned 80 this year! Yes, the big 8-0. Zac and I could not let this big milestone pass him by without celebrating how special his life is to all of us, so all the family came together and threw him a big birthday bash. It was a night that I will always remember. We won't always have our grandparents around, and I am so glad we were able to have a night remembering him. He is so special to me and my family and we are so blessed to have him in our lives! He loves to fish....I mean LOVES to fish, so we had a fishing themed party. It was so fun to put together ideas for it. I did decide one thing though....the King Family will NEVER own fish! Gross. It's just not my thing. We had a fish fiasco with them dying left and right before the party. Gag. Despite the high turn over rate of our not so cooperative fishes, the party was a huge success and we had a wonderful time celebrating World's Greatest Pops! Happy Birthday Pops!

Since I love to bake, cook, or whatever else being in a kitchen involves, I thought I would begin to share a few of our favorites along with some new found additions to our recipe box in this ole' blog....incase there is anyone that really DOES read it! :-) So here goes.....

I love Cinnamon! It is one of my favorite flavors to bake with. Sooo yummy and so simple! Seems like I always gravitate towards recipes with cinnamon in them (as well as chocolate and strawberries too!). It is just one of those familiar flavors that is so delish no matter how you cook it. I've tried a couple new recipes so I thought I would share. I got these 2 from a new favorite webiste of mine: www.sugarlaws.com They have some FABULOUS recipes I can't wait to try! So far the 2 I have tried have been super. Go check them out! These first ones are both breakfast recipes. Every Sunday morning we have "King Breakfast" at our house. Translation: big, hearty, breakfast with the family....making memories! We always look forward to it and I am always on the lookout for new breakfast recipes to try. Hope you and your family enjoy these as much as we did and you feel inspired to dust off that cinnamon jar and get to cooking! Happy Monday!

OK, for those of you that avoid recipes with yeast, you HAVE to try these cinnamon rolls....there is NO yeast! I was so amazed. They were fabulous. So fabulous. I will definitely make them again. Zac said he actually preferred them over Cinnamonster! Now, I'm not going to stretch that far, but I thought it was sweet. I made about 20 from this recipe though. Not sure how she only gets 10. Anyhow, I hope you enjoy. My mouth is watering thinking about them!

Cinnamon Rolls

INGREDIENTS
1 cup warm milk
2 eggs
1/3 cup butter, softened
4 1/2 cups bread flour
1/2 cup sugar
1 tablespoon baking powder

1 cup brown sugar
1 tbsp water (eliminate if you’re opening a new package of brown sugar)
2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
1/4 cup butter, softened

4 ounces cream cheese, at room temperature
1/4 cup butter, softened
1 1/2 cups confectioners’ sugar

DIRECTIONS

Preheat your oven to 400 degrees. Mix the first six ingredients together in a large mixing bowl, mixing thoroughly until the dough forms a large ball. Meanwhile, in a small bowl, combine brown sugar, butter, water and cinnamon.

Divide the dough into ten pieces, and roll each one into a 2″ by 10″ rectangle. Spread the dough with the cinnamon mixture. Roll each strip into a tightly formed roll. Place rolls in a 9×13 inch baking pan, allowing some room for the rolls to expand. Bake the rolls until just starting to turn golden, about 15 minutes. While rolls are baking, beat together cream cheese, 1/4 cup butter, and confectioners sugar. Spread frosting on the rolls before serving.

Makes 10 cinnamon rolls.

Cinnamon Pancakes

INGREDIENTS:
1 cup whole milk
1 cup plus 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
2 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
2 tsp ground cinnamon
2 tbsp sugar
1 egg
1 tbsp butter, melted

DIRECTIONS:
1. Combine all the ingredients in a large mixing bowl. Beat until smooth.
2. Heat a frying pan or skillet on the stovetop. Spray with cooking spray or grease with a little extra butter. Ladle out 1/4 cup of pancake batter at a time, and cook about 1 min on each side, flipping each pancake midway through. Repeat about eight times, until batter is gone.
5. Serve with maple syrup, honey or extra butter. Enjoy!

Makes about 6 large pancakes.

Kings are back in business!

Yes, yes…it has been officially FOREVER since the ole’ King blog has been updated! Busy season, what can I say?!? Instead of catching you up on every single thing that has transpired, we’ll just post lots of pictures so you know there hasn’t been a lack of fun in the King house. Just too busy to stop and post it on here! (If you would join Facebook, you would see more of the Kings there. J ) This year has been a breath of fresh air in many ways and challenging in others. The Lord has been doing so much in us and around us. We are so grateful for Him and the freedom He gives. As the King blog continues, we will begin to not just share pictures of the kids, which I am sure you love, but other randomness of our lives too. So, since it has been March since we’ve posted, here is a little tid bit of what our little “King-dom” has been up to!

Grayson is now almost 5 months! He is an absolute JOY. He has to be the happiest baby I have ever been around. He smiles from ear to ear at just about anyone that talks to him. He is so peaceful and so content. He just started on brown rice cereal and is still trying to decide if he likes it or not. He is flipping over, being more vocal and oh so squeezeable! He's been sleeping through the night since 5 weeks old and averages 10 hours at night right now and takes 3 naps during the day. He loves him some sleep! At his 4 month appointment he weighted 15 lbs so he is growing perfectly. He is absolutely precious and we adore him. We are so blessed by him and are so excited to see the call of God on his little life. It is so neat how the Lord gave a mom’s heart a way to grow. I always thought, how can I love another little man as much as I love Taylor? But it just grew a little bigger and he fits in this Mommas heart for sure! I guess with each child your heart just grows a little bigger.

Taylor is 4.5 now and amazes us more every day! He had the most important day of his life on May 8, 2009 when he asked Jesus into his heart! It was such a sweet moment….one of those moments where you think, it is all worth it. Every last minute of motherhood has eternal value and is so worth it! Treasure every moment and use every opportunity to train them. Even when they give you a blank stare, they are truly getting it! Our special moment was at Sonic getting a beloved slushy and he just started asking questions. We were going about our ordinary day when something extraordinary happened. His little heart was changed forever. It was precious. We are so proud of him and the sweet spirit he has. He is a worshipper to his CORE!! We love to watch and listen to him worship. He is enthralled with music and would sleep with his guitar if we let him. He made a playlist for his MP3 player and he wanted me to put Chris Tomlin, David Crowder, Paul Baloche, Kari Jobe, Gateway Worship, Tenth Avenue North, Third Day and a few others…..not too bad for a 4 year old! He knows more songs than I do. He is one smart cookie. He definitely keeps us on our toes. He is reading now and writing a lot. We have moved past the beginning reading stage and on to books! Real books! He is really into Dr Seuss, Clifford, Hermie and Veggie Tales books. He reads a lot and loves doing so! He has been a joy to teach….always wanting to learn something new. He is such a blessing and is so gifted. It is so neat at his age to watch his calling start to unfold. It is just priceless. I wouldn’t trade my time at home with these boys for anything. Everyday is a new journey and even though some days seem mundane, the eternal purpose is HUGE!

Let me explain these first few pictures! We started what we like to call Project Patio 09. Translation: We had to dig up a lot of dirt and grass so that we could have our new paito poured. Prayerfully we will have the finished product to be able to post pictures of! I had a great idea to wet the area so it would be easier to dig. Easier to dig it was, however it was soooo messy! I have never been this dirty. The picture doesn't do it justice. Zac and I dug for a few days and this particular night we were digging until 1am! Zac is such a trooper and hard worker. He finally finished it and we definitely have sweat equity put into this project! Taylor of course had to have his fun in the mud too. Excuse the undies.....it was less muddy clothes for me to wash if he just wore his undies. :-)

Our vacation this year was such a blast! It was our first vacation as a family of 4. The boys did awesome and we got a lot of much needed rest! We chilled at our hotel, the Hyatt Hill Country Resort most of the time, played miniature golf, visited the Natural Bridge Wildlife Ranch, tried many new restaurants, and had lots of family bonding time. It was priceless. I heart my boys!!

The boys had their pictures taken a couple weeks ago. They both did so great and were very cooperative. Grayson was one month old and Taylor is 4 years old. What sweet little men they are. :-)

Taylor loves to help do everything.....dishes, dusting, taking out the trash, cooking....anything! I am grateful for his help. I don't mean that sarcastically either! I can load the dishwasher and ask him to come start it and he puts the soap in, closes it and pushes the right buttons to get it started. Same with laundry. I fill up the washer and dryer, and he operates the buttons and gets things started. Such a smart little cookie! With our new busy schedule with a newborn, his helpfulness has come in handy many times! This week I was washing some things in the sink and he wanted to help. So, after I was done I gave him a few cups to wash. I went to go get Grayson and when I came back, what a fun little water mess we had at the sink! Those cups were sparkling clean and Taylor was quite wet! He was having a blast, so I just let him finish and cleaned up the mess when he was done. Sometimes I think it's OK to let them make some messes (supervised of course). So every once in a while I will take of my "everything must be clean" hat and let his testosterone go wild. :-)

Brotherhood.....week 5

This was an exciting week for the little man! He got to go to church for the first time. He entered into worship while sleeping in his car seat and decided the preaching wasn't his favorite part just yet, so we camped out in the nursing moms room until it was over. Over all he did great and we are all SO excited to be back at church as a family again. :-) I think he is used to all the loud noises around here with our little musician Taylor, so he just sleeps through it all and doesn't even flinch. If you are wanting to be in a quiet house, ours is NOT it! There are drums, guitars, loud songs, Daddy Taylor duets, etc... randomly throughout the day. I am glad Grayson has adjusted to the noise quite well. :-) We've had a pretty low key week with this nasty Texas weather, but are hopeful this week the weather will warrant a few park days! I am so grateful for these 2 boys. I know we have lots of fun filled memories ahead. What special gifts they are!

I can't believe it has already been 3 weeks since Grayson was born! My my, it is already going by so fast! We are convinced God sent us a little angel for a baby! He sleeps so well...4-6 hours at night and one night slept 7 hours! Such a sweet content little boy. Taylor has been adjusting so well and absolutely adores Grayson. He wants to be with him, play with him, talk to him, lay with him....it is so very sweet. It is so neat to see the close bond they already have in only 3 short weeks! These boys are something else....I love them to pieces. I am a little outnumbered by testosterone in my house now, but I wouldn't trade it for the world. A house full of boys is something so sweet. :-)

Week 2 is already here! This week Grayson got his first bath, gave us lots of sweet smiles, and wrapped around our hearts even more. We are enjoying him so much and are so blessed by our boys! He has been given the name "Little Bubba" by Taylor and the bond they already have is so sweet. He is growing fast just like Taylor. He is already over 8 lbs. :-) Big boys!!

Wow! I am amazed at the goodness of God right now. He knows the desires of our heart….even in childbirth! This entire birth was such a God thing and such a true testimony of His goodness and grace!! We arrived at the hospital at 9am and at 10:17 our sweet Grayson Jack King was born!!His middle name is after World's Greatest Papa (Zac's dad) and Zac's grandfather. Grayson is perfect! So absolutely precious and so content. We’ve quickly fallen in love with him and can't wait to bring him home. Taylor is very excited about his “little bubba.” It was God’s perfect timing, very quick, and by the grace of God, a praying husband and peaceful worship music in my ears (Praise God for Kari Jobe and I’m Singing and an ipod that repeats!), we did it! Thanks for all of your prayers. We love you all very much!

Well folks, if Grayson has not come by Thursday morning at 5:30 am, Mommy will go in to have her "water broken." She has been at an almost 5 for 2 days now and we are all a little surprised she is still walking around with no labor. So far there haven't been any painful contractions at all and she is halfway there, so God is definitely helping her along. The next post on my blog will be announcing my new baby brother!! Grayson.......when are you coming??

So my little baby brother is very warm and toasty in my Mommy's belly. He seems to like it just fine in there and is in no hurry to come out. He is supposed to come out today, February 1. I would love to meet him. I ask Mommy everyday, "Are we going to the hospital to get Grayson out?" I can't wait until the answer is YES! I talk to him everyday in Mommy's belly and tell him all kinds of things. I am ready to hold him and yes, I even said I would help change some poopy diapers! I am ready to be a big brother. I hope I get to experience it soon.

**Info for all the Mommies- Since 36 weeks Mommy has been dilated to a 3 and 80% effaced. At almost 38 weeks she moved on up to a 4 and 80% effaced. We have been thinking for a few weeks now that he is fixing to come. Well, he is still cooking and we are praying very hard he comes soon! Mommy is due today! Please help us pray that he comes soon. Mommy is feeling really good, but is just ready to see him. If we don't have him by Thursday we will go to the hospital and they will "break Mommies water." I guess they don't know we aren't supposed to break things. Maybe I should tell Dr. Rost to be nice to my Mommy. :-) Come on Grayson, you can do it! Come on out of there so we can meet you!

My 4th Birthday!!!

Well, Grayson decided to still not come before my birthday, so we had tons of fun! We celebrated all day doing lots of fun things. I really wanted Grayson to come on my birthday so we could be birthday buddies, but he decided to change his mind. I guess he wanted to cook in Mommy's tummy a little bit longer. Daddy was preparing me that me and Grayson may have to share a birthday and it would be so much fun. I told Daddy, "that would be the greatest gift ever." I just love my brother so much already. I talk to him daily and can't wait to actually meet him in person! How special. So anyways, about my birthday, it was super fun and full of lots of fun outings. I am so excited to be 4!

Our fun-filled day began upon waking up that morning. On my birthday I get to pick what I eat all day! I get to pick ANYTHING I want. Because I tend to be a creature of habit like my Daddy, I requested my chocolate protein drink (aka- chocolate milk) and vitamins. Yep. That's what I wanted for breakfast! Why change a good thing? For lunch I wanted cheese and tortillas so off to LaHacienda we went. Then Mommy and I picked up Bryce and we decided to top it off with dessert. I wanted to get some "white" ice cream also known as vanilla. Bryce and I had a wonderful time. Mommy had to keep reminding us we had to use inside voices. Sometimes we can get a little loud....what's a boy to do? Quiet doesn't come naturally! :-) Thanks Bryce for making my birthday so special!

After I played with Bryce all afternoon outside, we went to Aunt Lissa and Rodney's house. They got me some really cool birthday cupcakes and me and my cousins sang and celebrated! Thanks Lissa! Love you!

Finally, when the day was winding down, we had Grammie, Nanny and Pops over to celebrate with us. I wanted cheese pizza, so that is what we got! Yummmmm. Nanny made me a super special birthday cake too. She asked me what kind I wanted, and I told her pink cake with white icing. Pink cake you ask? Yes! I love pink cake. Real mean love pink....especially in cake. :-) Pizza and pink cake was the flavor of the party. Thanks Nanny! I love you!

I turned the big 4 this year! Yup, that's right. It's been 4 years since I was born. I can't believe how fast it has gone. The last 4 years have been so super-dee-duper! I am so blessed by all my family, friends, church and God! My baby brother is supposed to come on February 1 and we heard from our doctor that he may come early, so Mommy and Daddy gave me a small last minute party at my choice of restaurant...Fuddruckers... incase Grayson came close to my birthday. They wanted me to still get to have a fun time with my friends, and I am so glad they did. I had so much fun.

"Side Note"- The funnest part too is that all my cousins got me a trampoline for my birthday! Yup, a big one for the backyard! I absolutely love it. I'll try to get Mommy to put some pictures up of it. I was SO excited when I got home and saw it. What a great gift!

Grayson ended up not coming, but oh well. It was fun anyways. :-) I wanted to go to Fuddruckers because they have cheese sauce and cookies. It's all about the food people....all about the food!

So I had my first Slumber party! It was a complete blast. 3 of my cousins spend the night with me when Daddy went on his Sabattical. That's where he goes to talk to God for a few days. Mommy and I decided it would be fun to have the company. We all slept in my room and finally crashed around 11:30. We were up bright and early at 7:45 ready for some breakfast! Mommy made us character pancakes and we ate until we were stuffed. We finished off our slumber party with our own little worship team. We sang and played instruments for a really long time. We had so much fun praising Jesus. I love my cousins! Video to come soon....talk about talent!

...A mic stand! Yep, that's right. I wanted a microphone stand so I can sing and play the guitar at the same time. Mommy couldnt really find one, so Grammie put the word out. A sweet friend of hers at work had one she wasn't using and gave it to me! I absolutely love it! When anyone asks me what I want to be when I grow up, I always remind them I want to be a worship leader. Now I can practice like the pros! I am SO SO SO thrilled about my new mic stand. I have already spent hours making wonderful noises with it!

Christmas # 3 was with my King family. Aunt Theresa and Uncle Bill always come from Tulsa and my Cousin Kendra and Duane with their sweet Addie came from Canada to celebrate Jesus' birthday. Christmas #2 was at my Grammies House. We have a tradition every Christmas morning to go to her house after we finish our family Christmas and she makes a BIG breakfast. She has done that since my Mommy was little and we always look forward to it. One of the new traditions we have is to make a birthday cake for Jesus. Mommy made the cake and Payton and I decorated it with all kinds of sugary treats. I think we ate just as much as we put on the cake. :-)

When Mommy wasn't looking, I would just squeeze the icing in my mouth. Oh come on, you would have done the same thing! :-)

So I am very very very blessed. We have lots of family and around Christmas time, it is like a marathon in our house. We have like 6 Christmas-es to go to every year. This year we were able to make 4 of them and boy were we exhausted when the festivites finally came to an end! We had lots of fun memories though and had a wonderful time with family. I am truly blessed!

Christmas #1 is with Mommy and Daddy at home on Christmas Morning.

One of our traditions at our house is for Daddy (and me since I am the up and coming star in our house) to sing a couple Christmas worship songs. I love to sing and play my guitar with my Daddy. This year we picked Joy to the World and O' Come let us Adore Him.

Another new veggie movie....I think by this point I have all of them!

Mommy has been wanting to put up Christmas stuff for a while, but Daddy insisted on waiting. So right after Thanksgiving, we got right on it and started unpacking the Christmas decor and spreading some holiday cheer in our house! I love the tree. I get to turn the lights on every morning. I am a little disappointed my mommy didn't put a star on top. She has some sort of funky decor thing, but I told her she needs a star, so maybe next year we will have one. Turkey Day '08

This Turkey Day, like most holidays in my family was packed full of several events. First we had Thanksgiving at KK's house on Thursday, at my house on Friday with Grammie and her family then back to KK's on Saturday. It was a fun filled weekend! So for Mommy's Birthday Daddy and I decided to get our pictures taken for her! She loves pictures so much, so we thought it would be the perfect gift. The amazing Natasha Brown (www.thebrownroomphotography.com) took them and we had so much fun. Here are a few of our favorites. :-) Mommy was so surprised and LOVED her gift. Good times. :-)

Baby Grayson's Big Boy Party

So lots of Mommies friends gave her a shower for Baby Grayson! It was a perfect little man party and she said it was so much fun. Everyone had to make a diaper creation and Mommy and Grammie got to judge them all. What a great idea! I got to go to the party at the end and eat some cake. :-) When we got home, I got to open all of Grayson's presents and it was so fun. I can't wait to meet my baby brother. We will be best of friends! My mom will be a little outnumbered but I think she will be just fine. :-)

Well, I don't really know who Punky Brewster is.....I guess it's a crazy girl back in the olden days when Mommy was a little one. But what I do know is that I guess Mommy overheard me praisin me some Jesus really loud in my room, so she came to see what all the comotion was and she said something about my "outfit of choice" looking like Punky Brewster.....silly Mommy. I like to be creative and get all dolled up for worship....who doesn't? I know Jesus liked it. :-)

Taylor-Man the Baker-Man

So today mommy and I made some yummy homemade bread. It's called Pan De Sal. Translation: a yummy sweet bread Uncle DJ ate a lot of when he visited the Philippines. He made us some when he got back and it was oh so yummy. Well, we decided it was a good day for a food project......so we made some. It turned out pretty tasty. I'm a huge helper in the kitchen and love food projects, so this was a fun day!

I was trying to see just how far my piece could stretch before it tore.

I learned what kneading was today.....I like to refer to it as pounding.

After we were done, Mommy gave me my own piece of bread to play with. I decided no project was complete unless we made a little mess.....soooo, I stuck my bread to my head and thought it was hilarious. I'm a boy....what else needs to be said?? :-)

Thankful Turkey....revisited

So I made my Thankful Turkey last week. It was lots of fun. Scroll down for the original photo. On Sunday night, I took my turkey to Mommy and said, "Mommy, I'm not done with my Thankful Turkey....I forgot to put you and Daddy on it!" I was very serious. I went and got Mommy a marker so she could add them to it. I mean, I forgot my parents.....silly me. :-) So Mommy started to write her and Daddy's name and so many things I am thankful for started pouring into my brain....so I started telling mommy, "I have more....will you write all of them?!?" I was very passionate about filling up my Thankful Turkey. So Mommy started writing and we had to stop because she ran out of room. :-) I just have so much to be thankful for....I wanted to put it all on there!

Mommy Interruption: Mind you, none of this was "parent inspired." This was all his doing. Out of no where he brought me this turkey to complete. I'd like to highlight the last few Taylor told me. So the last 4 went something like this: "Mommy, I want to put Zach Neese, and Tim Shepard and Thomas Miller and Kari Jobe! Yeah, I want to put all those too!!" I just love our little worshipper. These people have a little fan club even if they don't know. Can you tell he's a little guy with a big heart for worship?? He's such a special little guy. :-)

State Fair '08

The fair is kind of a tradition for me and my family. This is my 4th time to go! We go every year and I have a blast each time. We normally just spend a few hours there and have a list of things to accomplish while there. The list goes something like this: pay too much for parking, go to the petting zoo and feed all kids of animals, get daddy a corny dog (this is the only hot dog item he gets every year, so he looks forward to it. Mommy DESPISES hot dogs, so he doesn't ever get them....poor daddy.) , we head over to the car show to test drive lots of really cool but over priced cars, get mommy a funnel cake, see Big Tex and possibly see the dog show then head on home. Its a fun time and I love it! This year we went with our coolest friends, Jake and Becky. They have never been to the fair, so we showed them the ropes. Good times! Thanks Jeremy and Cristi for the tickets! We had fun....sorry you couldn't come. Maybe next year. :-)

Fun-Filled Day with Friends......and Turkeys!

Fall is here and it is sooooo wonderful! Pumpkin patches, yummy food, cooking binges my mommy gets on, cool weather.....its all so great! Well, its been a busy week for us at home so mommy and I decided to take the day off and call up some dear friends for a fun filled Turkey Day! We made turkey cupcakes and thankful turkeys that say what we are thankful for. It was the perfect dreary day to hang out with good friends inside and have some fun. Since a lot of my friends are girls, it was good to get in some "testosterone filled man time" with my friend Bryce too. We are always silly willy's when we are together! So here is to a fun filled turkey day.....hip, hip hooray!!!!

With 3 kids around, normally the bowl gets licked pretty clean. :-)

So here we are making our Turkey Cupcakes. We all got to frost our own cupcake then decorate it.The creative bunch slapping some yummy chocolate frosting on those sugar filled cupcakes. :-)

What cupcake decorating party is fun without having a quality control team to sample the final prodcut? Welcome to any party with boys. :-)

Here we are decorating away.....I've never had candy corn before, but I found out they taste pretty good. Mommy says they taste like sugar coated plastic and are yucky. I think I may disagree.

So this is the final product Mommy constucted to show us the ropes on how to make a Turkey Cupcake.......check out our final products....I think we may have skipped a step (or 2). :-)
By the way, our mommies would not let us eat the turkey we made. They said something about too much sugar and making us puke??!?? They looked rather good to us. :-)

This is a picture of a 21st century play date. We each have our own laptop AND we are watching a movie. We can multi-task at a very young age.....and in style with our laptops. :-)

The 2nd part of our fun-filled turkey day was to makeThankful Turkeys with our mommies help. We made super cute turkeys and wrote what we were thankful for. It was lots of fun....although I wasn't as interested as my friends. I was to busy singing and listening to My Savior Lives....my new favorite song these days. :-)

Mommy interruption.......I know you fully enjoy Taylor writing his blog and telling you all the things he is currently doing. However, I thought I would interrupt this blog and give you a little mommy translation of this craft we did today. So all the kids were telling what they were thankful for. I started asking Taylor what he was thankful for, these are the things he said.....Baby King, books, God, Erin, worship and Jesus. I am so greatful he said Jesus and God.....I mean, he should love those above all else. That answer I am forever grateful for. But where is mommy and daddy?? I asked him, what about mommy and daddy. He said "Um, how about Erin and books." Niiiiiice. Fun times as a Mommy. :-) I love you Taylor.....your precious humor and worship filled life are so sweet to me. You are the greatest joy to us and we love you so very much! I know you love your mommy and daddy. We'll try again next year. :-)

Nash Farms Festival

This past weekend was the Annual Nash Farms Fall Festival. It is a Historical Building in Grapevine that used to be an operating farm at one point. They have lots of fun things to do. We brought Grammie along for the ride and had a good time. :-)

Pumpkin Patch......Take 2

Last week we went back to the Pumpkin Patch to catch a little more fun time (and pictures) with some dear friends! We had a great time. My friend Bryce and I are the only boys of the bunch, so we always have a ball when we are together.....thankfully both of our mommies are having baby boys, so we can up the testosterone count during play dates soon! :-) I love my friends and I am so blessed by them. They bring me lots of joy!

Mrs. Becky came with us this time too. I'm so glad she did! Me and Bryce had lots of fun riding around in the wagon with her!

I am so excited it is time for the pumpkin patch! It is only here one month out of the year, so we usually get to go lots of times. :-) This was the first of our trip so the pumpkin patch. Mommy and I went with Payton and Aunt Kelsi. While mommy and Kelsi sat in their comfy chairs, Payton and I had a ball. Good times!

Here's a little health tip for you: Milk, it does my body good....Payton, your Diet Coke is yucky!

The Amazing Brooke

My sweet friend Brooke has been training for a triathlon for several months now. We went to go cheer her on as she swam, rode her bike, and ran in the Toyota US Open Triathlon in Dallas this weekend. It was amazing to see what she has trained for and all the hard work she has been doing. It paid off and she did amazing. Oklahoma Trip....Part 3.....THE VEGGIE TALES LIVE SHOW!!!!

Wow!!! That is what comes to mind when I think about the fantastic super fun Veggie Tales Show I got to go see! Anyone who knows me know that I am a 100% Veggie Tales Nut!! I love Veggie Tales and have for almost 2 years now. I can tell you all the songs, silly songs, movies.....basically anything. If there was a Veggie Trivia game, I would win! :-) They are definitely one of my very very favorites. Well, Veggie Tales Live wasn't coming to Dallas, so mommy and daddy decided to take me to the one in Oklahoma City since we would be going there for the reunion anyways. It was so super fun! I asked about it almost every day for a few weeks and now I can't quit talking about how cool it was! They sang so many of my favorite silly songs and Bob and Larry were so big. I was grinning from ear to ear the day of and kept telling mommy "I'm so excited to see Bob and Larry today mom!" So there you have it.....a dream come true....I got to see Bob and Larry right in front of my eyes in real life. So fun!

Oklahoma Trip....Part 2.....Uncle Bill and Aunt Theresa

After the reunion, we drove to Tulsa to spend the night with my Great Uncle Bill (papa's brother) and My Great Aunt Theresa. They come to Dallas often, but we have never been to Tulsa. We were spending the night so we could go to the Veggie Tales Live show the next day. It was a fun treat to see them and their doggies. We had a wonderful time. Thanks for letting us stay Bill and Theresa! We had lots of fun!

I loved sitting in Aunt Theresa's massage chair. I thought it was pretty neat.

I loved Barkley! He was a big dog, and played fetch with me outside. I think he liked it better when I wasn't on him though. :-)

Oklahoma Trip....Part 1......Baker Reunion

Daddy, Mommy & I took a trip to Oklahoma City last weekend. We had lots to cram in a 2 day period, but it was so fun and many memories were made. The first reason why we went was to go to the Baker Reunion. Mimi is my great grandma and this was her side of the family. It was so great to see her. She is in her 80's and still going strong. I love her! Mana came too and we had a good time.

Sweet Baby Eli

Aunt KK had a baby a few days ago....Eli Joseph Childress. He is sooooo cute! I think he may be worlds cutest boy! He has the most precious double chin....just like me when I was a baby. I loved holding Baby Eli. It will be fun when we can play together. For the curious Mommies, he was born on September 24th at 1:03pm. He was 7 lb 5 oz and 20.5 inches long. The boys and girls are now tied on Daddy's side of the family. I guess Baby King will break the tie.....I'll keep you posted!
